What Is the Form Score, and Why Does It Matter?
When it comes to football predictions, not all teams come into a match with the same momentum. That’s why, alongside our core data insights, we’ve introduced the Form Score: a number that gives you a quick, reliable feel for how well a team has been playing recently.
The Form Score is a number from 0 to 10 that reflects a team’s current form — how strong, sharp, and successful they've been over their last few matches.
It doesn’t just look at the final result. It considers who the team played, how tough those matches were, and whether they’ve been improving or declining. A team with a high Form Score is not just winning — they’re performing well against real challenges.
What Makes a Score High or Low?
- A score of 9 or above means the team is not only winning but doing so consistently — often against tough opponents.
- A score around 5 or 6 suggests mixed results: maybe some wins, some losses, or matches against weaker teams.
- A score under 3 means the team is struggling — whether it's due to poor results, weak performances, or losses against easier opponents.
How Is It Calculated?
We look at the team’s last matches, and we weigh them by recency (recent games count more than older ones), result and opponent strength (beating a top team counts more than beating a low-ranked one).
So it’s not just about how many games a team has won, but how impressive those wins were.
It’s not a prediction. It’s not a guarantee. It’s a pulse check — a way to know where a team really stands right now.
Because when it comes to smart football insights, recent form isn’t everything…
…but it tells you a lot.
